ABOUT THE ARTIST

Cynthia is a Woodbury, CT-based artist and graphic designer. A professional studio artist and art director for twelve years after attending the University of Bridgeport with a degree in Fine Arts/Graphics, she now freelances as a portrait painter in addition to graphic designing. Predominantly a watercolorist, she is now working in oils, painting portraits, and the occasional landscape. She is known for her sensitive renderings of animals and highly comprehensive, life-like, natural, and architectural details in her work.

Cynthia free-lances designing logos, music folio instrumental covers, pamphlets, and the drawing and painting of heirloom house portraits on commission. She draws preliminary art for engraved ornaments and collectibles for Woodbury Pewter and has worked in set design/painting for Main Street Ballet, and Newbury Musical Theatre Company. Public works commissioned have been the Town of Middlebury Veterans memorial signs at Ledger Park and the Community Recreation sign behind Shephardson Community Center. Cynthia is also the Graphic Designer for the Arts Alliance of Woodbury, CT.

Past exhibits have been at Westover Schumacher Gallery, Middlebury, CT (2011), The Gloria Cachion Gallery, Southbury Public Library (2012, 2021), Woodbury Public Library (October 2019, 2022), and The Middlebury Public Library (November-December 2019). Recent shows include Face Time Classic Portraiture in a Digital Age, Greenwich, CT (January-February 2019) and the Portraits of Heroes 2020 Faces from Pandemic Front Lines, online and in Stamford, CT (July-August 2020), both associated with the Connecticut Society of Portrait Artists (CSOPA), Studio Hill Gallery, December Women's Group Show, Woodbury, CT (2022), Shutterspeed Gallery, Middlebury, CT (2023).

*Commissioned work is priced individually. Prices are estimated for average time spent on certain sizes, but exceptions are due to client's requests and the uniqueness of each piece. Please inquire if interested.
